Nigerian cyclist Bello Muhammad has earned a place in the Guinness World Records (GWR) after successfully riding a bicycle measuring 9 feet 5 inches tall without safety tethers or external assistance.
Muhammad achieved the feat by demonstrating exceptional balance, skill and determination while riding the unusually tall bicycle, which he built himself.
According to information shared about the achievement, the Nigerian cyclist independently mounted, rode and dismounted the bicycle without assistance, meeting the requirement for the record category, “Tallest Bicycle Ridden Unassisted.”

The achievement highlights Muhammad’s creativity and technical ability, as he not only constructed the bicycle but also demonstrated the skill required to ride it without relying on safety tethers or help from another person.
Riding a bicycle of such height presents significant challenges, including maintaining balance, controlling movement and safely getting on and off the bicycle. Muhammad’s successful attempt therefore demonstrates considerable coordination and determination.

His accomplishment has drawn attention to the ingenuity and talents of Nigerians, particularly in unconventional sporting and engineering pursuits.
The Guinness World Records recognises extraordinary achievements across various fields, including sports, human abilities, engineering and other unusual feats.
Muhammad’s reported record adds to the growing list of remarkable accomplishments by Nigerians seeking international recognition through unique skills and innovative projects.
