Mr. Richard Yermoh, a hopeful for Eastern Regional Deputy Youth Organizer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to work tirelessly to increase the party’s parliamentary seats in the Eastern Region ahead of the 2028 general elections.
He said his leadership would focus on strengthening the party’s grassroots structures, mobilising the youth and building closer collaboration with constituency youth organisers to improve the NDC’s electoral fortunes in the region.
According to him, a united and well-organised youth wing would be critical to securing victory for the party in the 2028 elections.
Speaking at the Suhum Okorase Odwira Festival, Mr. Yermoh called on delegates to give him the mandate to serve as the next Eastern Regional Youth Organizer, assuring them of his commitment to working towards the party’s success.
He expressed confidence that his leadership would help increase the NDC’s votes across the region and position the party to win more parliamentary seats in the next general elections.
Mr Yermoh, who is contesting on number 3 on the ballot paper, urged delegates to consider his vision, dedication and commitment to the development of the party when making their choice.
He emphasised that winning more parliamentary seats in the Eastern Region would require effective grassroots mobilisation, strategic engagement with voters and the active participation of young people in the party’s activities.
Beyond party politics, Mr Yermoh also used the occasion to caution the youth against drug abuse, warning that the growing prevalence of drug use could undermine their future and limit their opportunities in life.
He urged young people to stay away from illicit drugs and other harmful substances, stressing the importance of making responsible choices that would enable them to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the country.
Mr Yermoh noted that the future of the youth depended largely on their decisions and encouraged them to pursue education, skills training and other productive ventures rather than engage in activities that could jeopardise their well-being.
He maintained that empowering the youth politically and socially remained essential to building a stronger NDC and creating opportunities for the next generation
