Royal Vine Foundation Graduates First Cohort Under Educational Support Programme
The Royal Vine Foundation has successfully graduated the first cohort of beneficiaries under its Educational and Developmental Support Project (EDSP) through the Royal Vine Book Club (RVBC) in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The initiative forms part of the foundation’s commitment to investing in the future of children and adolescents by equipping them with essential values, life skills, mentorship, and educational support to help them become responsible, purposeful, and productive members of society.
The graduation ceremony, held at the Akropong Library, brought together participants, parents, educators, and community members to celebrate the successful completion of the programme.
Speaking to the media after the event, the Founder of Royal Vine Foundation, Ms. Abigail Ofori, said the Educational and Developmental Support Project was established to help young people discover and nurture their talents, grow in purpose, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
She explained that the programme primarily targets children and adolescents from the ages of 10 to 19, providing them with practical knowledge and guidance beyond the traditional classroom.
According to Ms. Ofori, the EDSP curriculum includes critical thinking, literacy and reading skills, emotional intelligence, mentorship, coaching, life skills, and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education. She noted that these areas are designed to prepare participants to make informed decisions, overcome life’s challenges, and contribute positively to their families and communities.
“The future of every nation depends on the quality of its young people. Through this initiative, we are empowering children and adolescents with the knowledge, values, and confidence they need to succeed in life,” she said.
Ms. Ofori further disclosed that, following the success of the maiden cohort, the foundation intends to expand the programme to other districts and municipalities within the Eastern Region and beyond to reach more young people.
She added that, this graduation marks not the end of the journey, but the beginning of a greater responsibility.
Ms. Ofori said that: “as members of the EDSP Alumni & Ambassadors Network, our graduates have become part of a growing community of young changemakers committed to learning, leadership, and service. Through the Network, they will continue to receive mentorship, build new skills, and explore opportunities for their future while using their knowledge and creativity to identify and address challenges within their communities.”
“We believe that when young people are empowered to think critically, dream boldly, and act compassionately, they become powerful agents of transformation. Today’s graduates are not only beneficiaries of a programme; they are Ambassadors of hope, carrying forward the vision of creating stronger, safer, and more resilient communities from the grassroots upward,” she added.
She also appealed to educational institutions, corporate organizations, development partners, individuals, and other stakeholders to collaborate with the foundation in organizing outreach programmes to support child and adolescent development in line with the foundation’s objectives.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Royal Vine Foundation for the opportunity, describing the programme as insightful and life-changing. They said the knowledge and mentorship received had improved their confidence, reading habits, decision-making skills, and personal development.
